Delhi High Court says the spouse exception in benami law does not cover property registered jointly with a mother-in-law

The Delhi High Court held that the exception for property bought by a husband in his wife's name does not stretch to a sale deed registered jointly with the mother-in-law, and that the source of the money alone does not decide whether a deal is benami. The husband's own pleadings showed the price came from mixed accounts and a loan in another person's name, so his claim to be the real owner was barred.
